How Danielle Supports Adults with ADHD
A Neuro-Informed, Integrative Approach
Danielle works with adults with ADHD using an integrative approach that combines psychological therapy, neuro-informed practice, and practical strategies to support both emotional wellbeing and day-to-day functioning.
Support is tailored to the individual and may include:
- Psychology-based approaches to strengthen attention, executive functioning, and emotional regulation
- Nervous-system-informed strategies to reduce overwhelm, improve regulation, and support sustained focus
- Therapeutic work addressing rejection sensitivity, self-criticism, confidence, and co-occurring emotional challenges
- Structured coaching approaches supporting routines, organisation, and sustainable self-management
This integrative framework recognises that ADHD affects not only attention and productivity, but also emotional experience, identity, and overall quality of life.
Understanding ADHD
What ADHD Really Is
Modern neuroscience highlights the brain’s ability to adapt and change throughout life (neuroplasticity).
Therapy supports this process by helping individuals develop new ways of thinking, feeling, and responding, encouraging healthier psychological patterns over time.
Read More About ADHD
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that influences attention, emotional regulation, motivation, and executive functioning across the lifespan. While awareness of ADHD in children has increased over recent decades, understanding of how ADHD presents in adults is still developing, and ongoing research continues to shape clinical perspectives and best practice.
For many adults, ADHD extends beyond attention or organisation. The psychological impact of living with ADHD can be significant, particularly when experiences have been misunderstood or unsupported earlier in life. Adults often describe patterns of internal pressure, self-criticism, emotional intensity, or feeling capable yet inconsistent in their ability to follow through.
For those diagnosed later in life, there may be a process of reinterpreting past experiences through a new lens. Growing up undiagnosed can contribute to difficulties such as low self-esteem, perfectionism, chronic stress, or feeling fundamentally different from others despite strong ability or effort.
ADHD frequently exists alongside other psychological experiences, including:
- anxiety and chronic stress
- emotional dysregulation or rejection sensitivity
- burnout and exhaustion
- low self-worth or persistent self-criticism
- difficulties with relationships or boundary setting
Research also highlights increased vulnerability to certain risks when ADHD remains unrecognised or unsupported, including ongoing stress, work-related overwhelm, difficulties with emotional regulation, and patterns of coping that may become unhelpful over time.
Therapeutic work focuses on understanding how ADHD has shaped your individual experience, exploring both strengths and challenges, and developing sustainable strategies that support emotional wellbeing, identity, and everyday functioning.
ADHD coaching provides structured, practical support to help individuals strengthen executive functioning, improve organisation and focus, and develop sustainable strategies for effective day-to-day self-management.
